Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my statement being added?
Bütçem only reads the original statements of the banks listed above. Scanned or photographed PDFs, password-protected files, statements in currencies other than Turkish lira and other statement formats are not imported. If the balances on the statement don't match the transactions, Bütçem stops the import so it doesn't create an incorrect record.
What happens if I add the same statement twice?
Bütçem recognizes the same document and doesn't add the transactions a second time. The categories you corrected are kept.
A transaction's category is wrong. What should I do?
Tap the transaction and pick the correct one with Choose category. If you like, you can save this choice as a rule; the rule is applied automatically to similar transactions in later statements. Corrections don't change the original record on the statement.
Why doesn't my credit card payment show up in my spending?
Paying your card debt is not new spending; the spending itself is already on the card statement. To avoid counting the same amount twice, Bütçem shows card payments as transfers between accounts.
Why aren't incoming transfers counted as income?
An incoming transfer could be a salary, or it could be a transfer from your own account. Because Bütçem can't be sure, it doesn't automatically count it as income. You can tap the transaction and change its type.
How do installment purchases appear?
Only the installment amount reflected on that month's statement is added to the budget, on the statement date. The original date of the purchase is kept in the transaction's source information.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your phone. Bütçem does not connect to a server and never asks you to sign in or for your bank password. For details, see the Privacy Policy.
If I change my phone, is my data transferred?
The app has no cloud sync, so data isn't carried over to a new phone by itself. You can add your statements again on the new phone.
How do I delete all my data?
Settings → Delete budget from device permanently deletes all records and stored statements. Uninstalling the app also deletes the data.
Is Bütçem paid?
No. Bütçem is free; there are no ads and no in-app purchases.
