Key Results
65+ real-time data pipelines across 44 sportsbooks and 5 sports, built and run by our team for 2.5 years

The Challenge
EdgeHunters sells +EV, arbitrage and matched-betting tools to bettors in the US and Canada. The product is only as good as its odds feed: every sportsbook names teams, leagues and markets differently, books change their sites without warning, and a stale or mismatched price makes a recommendation worthless.
Our Solution
We started with a DraftKings proof of concept in July 2023 and grew it into the client's data backbone. Each sportsbook has its own spider, some reading websockets, running as Celery workers in Docker with Redis queues. Normalization tables map team and league names, and a game ID built from Flashscore data pairs the same event across books. Validation and anomaly checks post Slack alerts, and a third-party odds API takes over automatically when a scraper fails. Every five minutes the latest odds are packaged and pushed to S3 and PostgreSQL for the product to read.
The Outcome
The platform ran in production for about two and a half years, covering moneyline, double-chance, spread and totals markets across soccer, baseball, American football, basketball and hockey. EdgeHunters checked our data against competing feeds to confirm its accuracy. In 2025 we also designed the next step: a streaming, event-driven pairing architecture to cut end-to-end latency.
Highlights
- One spider per sportsbook, including websocket feeds
- Team and league normalization with cross-book game IDs
- Anomaly checks with Slack alerts and automatic API fallback
- Odds snapshots to S3 and PostgreSQL every five minutes
- Streaming redesign proposal for lower latency (2025)
